Government Gambit

As a government owned sea port, one of our biggest risks is the appetite of our government owners for innovation and speculative net zero technology investment. A perception that a government agency is “gambling” with public funds is rarely a vote winner. We will need to be highly disciplined in defining the innovation risk we are prepared to take. We will need a clear gated innovation governance process to ensure any innovation projects are run as agile projects and if unsuccessful, fail fast and fail as cheaply as possible.
